Just 86 votes separate Yes and No in Inverclyde

ONLY 86 votes separated Yes and No in Inverclyde, with No winning by the slenderest of margins.

Out of 54,601 votes, No secured 27,329 votes, with Yes getting 27,243.

Twenty-nine ballots were spoiled.

Turnout was 87.4 per cent. The vote split was 50.08 per cent to No and 49.92 per cent to Yes.

With five of 32 council areas declared, the national vote stands at 76,864 votes for No and 63,340 for Yes. The vote is split 55 per cent to 45 per cent in favour of No.
