Highland Council offers advice for those having to self-isolate in and around Grantown-on-Spey following cluster of Covid-19 coronavirus cases linked to Millers of Speyside abattoir

ANYONE needing to self-isolate due to the Covid-19 cluster in a Highland community is being offered assistance by Highland Council.

The local authority has moved to reassure residents in the Grantown area that there is a freephone helpline number available to provide assistance for those having to self-isolate.

"If anyone in the Grantown area requires to Covid19 self-isolate and they need support, e.g. with food supplies or financial assistance, they should contact Highland Council's Freephone Helpline on 0300 303 1362," said a spokesman.

"People wishing to volunteer their help should also contact this number."

The advice comes after NHS Highland confirmed that an outbreak of the coronavirus in the community had jumped to 31 cases as a result of the hotspot. Twenty-nine of these are being linked with the Millers of Speyside abattoir, which took the move yesterday to halt operations for 14 days as a precaution.
