HARD to believe but Johnny Foxes in Inverness has been going strong for 25 years, and the quarter century was celebrated in great style last weekend.
Mine host Don Lawson, who also has The Den nightspot “through the wall”, threw a lavish party for 400 guests with a casino and swing band from Glasgow to get the party rolling.
All proceeds from the gaming tables went to the Ukranian children’s appeal, and £3500 was raised. Mr Lawson said: “This was a fantastic amount for a worthwhile cause, and on the night it was topped up by £1000 from local businessman Mark Williamson and £500 from myself, so a nice round £5000 is going to the appeal. It was great to see so many friends and regulars coming along.”
Mr Lawson said the party was also to mark a return to normality after the lockdown years, and he is certainly hitting the ground running – by opening his new Jimmy Badgers Gin and Fizz Bar in Church Street this week.
