Two men jailed over Highland heists including five cars

Two men have been jailed after admitting a string of thefts and attempted thefts across the Highlands.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard Andrew Craigie (30) stole five cars over the period of less than a week in the summer of 2019 from dealerships in the Highland capital.
Three of the vehicles were taken on June 30 that year when he broke into Culloden Car Sales.
Fiscal depute Robert Weir said the vehicles included three cars worth tens of thousands of pounds.
Another two were stolen by Craigie on July 2, 2019 from the Top Car dealership in the city’s Harbour Road. In addition, police found three sets of car keys had been stolen, some clothing, an iPad and a vacuum cleaner.
Meanwhile, co-accused Andrew Gardiner (38), also of Yarrow Terrace, Dundee, admitted breaking into a unit at Dalfaber Industrial Estate, Aviemore, on July 11, 2019.
He stole two safes containing £1500. Gardiner also admitted trying to break into Dalwhinnie filling station on July 26, 2019 and forcing his way into a bakery in North Kessock on the same day.
Sheriff Sara Matheson sentenced Craigie to 30 months in jail, with Gardiner getting 25 months.
