HANDBAGS and purses have been stolen from homes in Inverness this week.

These were among a number of items taken from properties in Harrowden Road, Fairfield Road and Lochalsh Road, according to police.

They were taken overnight from Monday into Tuesday.

A police spokesman said: "A man was seen in the area between 2am and 3.30am when the thefts are believed to have taken place.

"He is described as early 30s with a round face, wearing a black baseball cap, dark bomber jacket and dark jeans."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 and quote NN 5568/19.
