A pothole measuring around two feet across has been reported to Highland Council.

It was spotted at the junction of Caulfield Road North and Cradlehall Farm Drive in Inverness.

The HNM digital subscriber who spotted it took photos last night before returning this morning with a measuring tape.

At its widest point, it was some 24 inches, while another dimension was 20 inches.

"I spotted it while cycling," said the reader. "If I hadn't, it could have caused some serious damage."

He has since reported it to the local authority.
