A VISITOR magnet pub and restaurant in Inverness city centre has been forced to close until Saturday due to staff shortage.

A message from the management team at The Castle Tavern posted on social media said they they will be closing from today (Thursday) at 6pm until Saturday (September 4) at noon.

With its food and beer gardens plus the stunning views of Inverness Castle and the River Ness, the tavern is tremendously popular with tourists and locals alike.

The licensed trade has recently been becoming increasingly concerned at hospitality staff shortages both in the wake of Brexit and Covid.

The Tavern team said online: "Apologies to our regulars and to those who have reservations during this time. We will be in touch with everyone who has a booking.

"Thank you for your continued support during this very trying time."
