An Inverness youngster has landed herself a role in a returning CBBC television series.
Sophia Walsh (14) landed the part after being casted through her talent agency. The show is still under wraps, but filming is set to take place next month.
Speaking about how she's feeling to be given a starring role and her first thoughts when she found out she got the part, Sophia said: "I feel really honoured and happy that I’m going to be viewed all over the world!
"My first thoughts were 'Oh my goodness I can’t believe this and I can’t believe I auditioned and got the part'."
Having trained with Performers UK in Inverness, Sophia has been gearing up for an acting role for many years. Last year, Sophia and her father Steve Walsh were the winners of the SNAP fundraising event, Stars in their Eyes when they performed 'That's Life' by Frank Sinatra.
Sophia's mother, Tracey Walsh added: “Sophia got taken on by KR Management a year ago, and has done online auditions.
"This is the first one they’ve said yes to. She’s absolutely delighted and looking forward to it.
"I must also mention Performers UK, as they've been fantastic for Sophia! She does musical theatre there and does her acting grades with them. She loves going there!
"CBBC is obviously well known and Sophia is quite unique given her disability and her acting so hopefully they will bear her in mind for other opportunities."
The CBBC role is hopefully just the beginning for Sophia, who has many aspirations for her career.
Sophia said: "I’ve got a lot of dream shows, but one of them would be Hetty Feather, because I would like to play a part in a Victorian drama. I also love ‘Descendants’ and would love to play a part in one of those films."
