Inverness city centre businesses urged to vote on continuing BID

A BALLOT is to be held on the proposal to renew the Business Improvement District (BID) for Inverness city centre for a fourth term.

If successful it will be for a further five years from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2028.

A notice of ballot has been published today (Thursday January26, 2023) and a copy of the notice will be issued by post to all eligible owners and tenants for all the properties they own or lease in the BID area.

Ballot papers will be sent out on Thursday 2 February 2 for return to CIVICA Election Services by no later than 5pm on Thursday March 23.

The count will take place on Friday 24 March 24 and the result will be announced before 5pm that day.

The ballot will be conducted entirely by post on behalf of the Ballot Holder, Donna Manson, Chief Executive of The Highland Council, by the independent scrutineer, CIVICA Election Services.

Business Improvement Districts are business led partnerships which are created through a ballot process to deliver additional services to local businesses.

They can be a powerful tool for the business community and local authorities to work together to improve the local trading environment.
