Aspendos in Queensgate in Inverness has launched an appeal to help victims of the recent Turkish earthquakes.

Owner Mustafa Calisir, who is originally from Turkey, launched it via social media last night.

In a post he said: "Dear customers and friends, we were devastated to hear about the recent earthquake in Turkey and we want to try and help.

"We are asking for donations of good quality and new adult and children’s clothing, blankets, sleeping bags etc.

"All donations will need to be received by Monday, February 13, please as they will need to be delivered to Glasgow by Tuesday, February 14.

"Cash donations are also welcome.

"If you would like to drop donations the restaurant is open from 5.00pm. Alternatively, if you wish to drop off during the day please call the restaurant on 01463 711950 after 12.30pm and you can arrange a drop off time. Thank you for all your support. Please share thank you."
