An Inverness teenager has completed the Cape Wrath Trail in memory of her little brother – and to raise vital funding for cancer research.

Arden Tuerlinckx has been running the 230-mile route to Fort William in tribute to Frodi, who died after an 18-month battle with bone cancer.

The 17-year-old is part way through her challenge and has already raised more than £4100 for Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Frodi (9), who was in P6 at Balloch Primary, was described as amazing by his sister, who has just finished S6 at Culloden Academy.

Arden completed the challenge in 13 days, finishing today.

She said: "Very hot for Scotland today, around 25°C making moving feel so much harder, but I got there.

"It's been an incredible two weeks. Hard to believe I'm really finished now and I was feeling very emotional covering the last 5K or so. Then on the ferry and a much-needed chippy and ice cream, and headed home now for a shower and bed.

"Thank you so much to the people who've supported me out there and those who donated. It all gave me purpose when I got sore and tired – a reason to keep going.

"I'm exhausted but what an adventure it's been. The bad bits are already starting to fade but the good bits will stay and I'm sure I'll be off on another trip soon enough, maybe taking it a bit slower and less far though."
