A POPULAR tea dance event will return this weekend to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Inverness Senior Social Tea Dance will be held on Saturday, with music from Frankie Fraser and gramophone DJ Martin Mackay as well as tea, coffee and cakes.

The dance used to be a regular fixture before Covid, so organisers are delighted to be back.

It will take place at Toe2Toe Dance Studios in Wyvis Place, Inverness from 2pm-4.30pm.

Organiser Liz Sutherland said: “Lots of people have been asking when we could put on a tea dance again, so the Jubilee seemed like the perfect time to arrange a special afternoon.

“We can’t wait to see everyone again!”

Fellow organiser Nicola McAlley said: “We were sad to have to stop the tea dances during the pandemic as the very reason they were started was to try to help reduce loneliness and isolation for our elderly community.”
