AN Inverness taxi company have much to celebrate after being named the best cab company in Scotland at a influential awards ceremony, for the second time.

Inverness Taxi owner Gavin Johnston picked up the award at a recent awards Prestige Awards ceremony held in Norton House Hotel in Newbridge, near Edinburgh.

The award was presented to Mr Johnston for a second time, after winning the same high accolade last year.

Mr Johnston is the former winner of the lifetime achievement award at the national awards.

Mr Johnston said: "This year, we were recognised for the work we have put in over the pandemic to keep people safe.

"This last year has been so difficult for so many people, and we wanted to take the stress out of any journey that anyone needed to make.

"There were a number of things that were highlighted in the presentation of this award, including making sure we were offering a safe cab, for sanitising our cabs after use and for our food delivery app GETTS that helped to get food to those who needed it.

"We were delighted to get the award, and it is for every single member of the team, and for those who support us.

"Everyone puts in the hard work. It has been a stressful year and the demand for taxis is high. We want to continue to offer the exceptional service we do, and we can only do that with our incredible staff team and customers - but people might need to wait a little longer.

"Thanks go to everyone for their support, at some points we are struggling to keep up with demand.

"We are still looking for drivers to come and work with us, so please get in touch if you are interested."
