Synchronised ice skaters from four Inverness teams carved out some cool success with a series of fine performances at Trophy D'Ecosse in Dumfries.

Highland pups, the club’s youngest team with members as young as six years old, were crowned Juvenile Scottish Champions with an overall third place finish.

Highlanders, the club’s adult team, impressed the judges with an 80s medley and were rewarded with the title of Adult Scottish Champions, a third place overall, and a bonus 'most entertaining programme' award as well.

Aurora, the club’s intermediate team, also had a fantastic skate, coming sixth in a very close category.

Northern Lights turned in a fine performance to secure fourth place in the mixed age category with a huge increase in their score from the British Championships a few weeks ago.

Eilish Rennie, who shares coaching duties for all four teams with Amanda Clinton, said: "All the teams did amazingly well.

"We just travelled down wanting to go out and skate our very best, and we weren't thinking too much about medals, but it is really nice for our skaters to come away with some for their efforts."

Next stop for the four teams, who are based at Inverness Ice Centre, is the Steel City Trophy in Sheffield, while Northern Lights will also be heading to Montpellier, France in April.
