The owners of a city centre jewellery and piercing shop say it has been a 'whirlwind' first 12 months, after opening in 2022.

Based in Lombard Street, Highland Hyacinth Fine Jewellery & Piercing is owned by loved-up couple, Maree Fowler (35) and Seb Wolfe (30), who have been on a mission to put their stamp on Inverness.

The duo have now furthered this vision, as they have just launched their newest offering: 'permanent' jewellery.

Explaining more about what permanent jewellery is, Maree said: "It's basically a necklace, bracelet or anklet without the clasp. It's just really fun, and it's an alternative statement piece that doesn't require healing or piercing!

"We are the first to bring it to Inverness, which is really exciting as we have wanted to do this for so long!"

Both Maree and Seb have a 'love' for jewellery, so being able to bring a different option to people in their shop is a big moment for them. Having met in Germany eight years ago, the pair started off with a long-distance relationship before deciding to relocate to Inverness.

"He was living in Newcastle, and I was living in Aberdeen," explained Maree.
"We started dating long-distance for about three and half years, before we lived and worked together in Aberdeen.

"The time just felt right to open our own studio together. I wanted to live in Scotland, and he loves all things mountains, hills and bikes so we wanted to base ourselves here. It's also something that Inverness wasn't offering in terms of the range of jewellery that we do, so we wanted to be the first!"

The pair held a launch night for their new permanent jewellery range, where they invited local businesses in to share their space, including Christie Wood Yoga, Moonglade Shore, Dopamine Dolls, Highland Knots and Codie Anne Artist.

Maree said: "It's just been such a wonderful night, it's all very mutual what they are selling and what they bring. I am so happy!"

She added: "The first year has flown by. We are really blessed to have had the response we've had to bringing fine jewellery like this to the Highlands, and everybody loves it. It's been a good year."
