Sentence has been deferred on an Inverness woman who admitted stealing alcohol and food from a Tesco supermarket in Inshes.

Jade Vint (23) admitted stealing the goods on October 24 this year.

She was on multiple bail orders at the time and appeared via video link at Inverness Sheriff Court from remand.

Vint, of the city's Brown Street, has a history of alcohol and drug abuse, according to defence agent John MacColl who represented her in court.

A full recovery of the goods was made, the court was told.

Sheriff Robert Frazer deferred sentence until December 22 for the preparation of a background social work report and an assessment for a drug testing and treatment order.

Vint, who had been in custody for around a month, was released on bail.
