INVERNESS SHERIFF COURT: Man choked partner at Castle Heather Drive due to "bad mood"

An Inverness man has admitted choking his former partner .

Rudney Boelijn (40) seized the woman by the neck during an incident at an address in Castle Heather Drive on June 6 last year.

Court papers stated that that he restricted her breathing causing her an injury.

Fiscal depute Pauline Gair told Inverness Sheriff Court said: “During the course of the evening the witness noticed the accused was in a bad mood.

“She tripped over a bed cover and he seized her by the neck.”

The court heard the woman suffered bruising as a result of the assault.

Sentence was deferred for the preparation of background reports.

He was released on bail with the special conditions he does not approach the woman or her home address.

Consideration is also to be given to a non-harassment order and the suitability for a domestic abuse rehabilitation course.

Boelijn is to return to court on November 7.
