A man clashed with two teenagers after an argument with his then partner.

Orindgo John (43), now of Tomnahurich Street, appeared for sentence at Inverness Sheriff Court this week after the case had been deferred for a background report.

Last month he admitted chasing the two boys from a flat into the street.

One of them ended up with a cut arm.

John pleaded guilty to threatening or abusive behaviour in MacEwan Drive, Inverness on May 15 last year

Fiscal depute Pauline Gair told the court that an argument began in the flat between John and his partner, with the two teenagers then getting involved. An attempt was made to resolve matters in a bedroom but a fight broke out between John and the teenagers.

He then chased them out of the building.

After being arrested, John told police: “They jumped me. They were fighting me.”

Mrs Gair said that no medical treatment was required as a result of the incident.

Defence solicitor advocate Neil Wilson said: “He and his partner had been together for five years but the relationship has unfortunately come to an end since, but not to do with this.

“In fact, his partner wrote a letter of support for him last December. This was not far off a storm in a teacup.”

John was fined £940.
