The offender will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty.

Martin Anderson (31) of Leachkin Brae, Inverness, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court this week and admitted committing the offence which occurred at his home address between October 5, 2019 and June 30, 2020.

The court heard that a total of 80 images of young people between the ages of 10 and 15 had been recovered after a police raid was carried out on the property.

All of the images recovered were reported as being at the lowest end of the obscenity scale.

Fiscal depute Karen Poke told the court that they included no images of sexual activity.

Defence solicitor John MacColl told the court: “It is of considerable regret to him that he acted in this way.

“It has not happened since and will not again.”

Sheriff Robert Frazer called for a background report to be prepared before sentence is passed.

Anderson is now due to return to court on September 29.
