Driving while under the influence of cannabis on the A9 has landed a man with a £600 fine.

Adrian Ratajewski (32) was found to have 5.3micrograms of the class B drug in his system with the legal threshold being 2micrograms.

He was stopped on the main road at North Kessock on August 8 last year, Inverness Sheriff Court heard.

Ratajewski, of Conon Bridge, had taken the drug the day before and believed he was fit to drive, his solicitor said.

As well as the fine he was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
