INVERNESS SHERIFF COURT: Man charged with having an offensive weapon in public

A man has appeared in court accused of having an offensive weapon in public.

Gavin Hampton (23) faced a charge of allegedly having a blade or pointed object when he appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court.

He was also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause someone fear or alarm.

Hampton, of Aberdeen, made no plea and was released on bail pending a further court appearance.
