An Inverness road has reopened after being closed for several hours due to a chemical spill.

Emergency services spent time responding to a chemical spill on Burnett Road, near the police station earlier today.

Two fire crews were sent from Inverness to assist the police, with two other appliances being scrambled from Aberdeen.

Crews were spotted in the area wearing haz-mat suits.

A police spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
