Popular Inverness eaterie The Kitchen Brasserie has announced it will close for two days while it awaits the outcome of a staff member's Covid test.

The restaurant, on Huntly Street overlooking the River Ness, has closed until at least Friday September 10.

In a social media message to customers, it wrote: "CLOSED.

"To maintain the safety of our customers and staff we have taken the decision to close whilst a member of our team awaits results of a test for Covid-19.

"This is being done as a precautionary measure. We hope to re-open on Friday 10th September."

It added: "We are in the process of contacting all customers with reservations and have left some messages which we hope you will receive in time.

"As always your safety is our priority.

"We very much look forward to welcoming everyone back to the restaurant.

"Thank you for your understanding."
