Property agents are collecting food bank donations at their city office in aid of Inverness Foodstuff.

The Highland Solicitors Property Centre (HSPC) are keen to fill their floor full of food donations, and are encouraging local businesses as well as members of the public to pop by and give what they can.

The company is working with Agent Giving, an initiative set up to help estate agents locally and nationwide fundraise for good causes.

HSPC manager Bernadette Walker said: “We are acting as the host centre here in Inverness for all our local firms to rally together what they can and fill our floor!”

Mrs Walker said that, with the current cost of living crisis and rise in homelessness, the timing of this event was necessary.

She added: “It was perfect for us to get involved – we love to help people where we can. For a number of years we have been fundraising for the Highland Homeless Trust, so its great to now help the Inverness food banks too,” she said.

HSPC said “the more donations the better” and will accept anything, from tinned and jarred good to men’s toiletries and sanitary products.

“We are grateful that Inverness Foodstuff are in Inverness first and foremost, and we are happy to do anything to support them,” Mrs Walker said.

Donations can be dropped off at HSPC at 30 Queensgate, Inverness opposite the Victorian Market by this Thursday.

“Please help as much as possible to fill the floor before June 15! It will be so great seeing the floor be covered as the days progress,” Mrs Walker added.
