A SECURITY van taking a prisoner from Inverness to court in Fort William has crashed off the A82 road and went down an embankment

The accident involving the G4S happened near South Laggan about 8.25am today.

The van was travelling between Inverness Police Station and Fort William Sheriff Court at the time.

The female driver of the van suffered a knee injury, while a colleague and a male prisoner escaped without injury.

Police, fire units and the ambulance service attended the crash. The A82 was not closed initially, but there was some delay during the recovery of the vehicle.

Last week, a G4S prisoner transport overturned on its way to court in Aberdeen.
