Prayers will be said in Inverness on Sunday (February 12) for victims of the earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria.

Residents are welcome to join the congregation at Ness Bank Church between 3pm and 4pm.

Rev Penelope Smirthwaite said: "The church will be open for community prayers from 3pm led by myself and time will be offered for personal prayer from 3.30pm.

"This disaster is unparalleled. Our airways are full of distressing images and as aid floods in from across the international community we offer a quiet place to come and to pray for the victims and for the survivors in their anguish and suffering."

There will be a collection for the International Red Cross appeal.
