Inverness police carry out door-to-door enquiries after alleged armed robbery in broad daylight

POLICE in Inverness have appealed for witnesses after an alleged armed robbery in broad daylight.

A man in his twenties was approached by two unknown men on Glendoe Terrace between 10.15am and 11.30am yesterday.

"They engaged him in conversation before presenting a weapon and making off with a sum of money," said a police spokeswoman.

"The first man is white, around 30 years old, with collar-length brown hair, black jacket, blue jeans and white trainers. The second man is white, 25-30 years old, 5ft 9in, wearing bright blue Gio Gio Hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

"The man was not injured during the incident."

Police are conducting door-to-door enquiries in the Merkinch area and reviewing CCTV.
