THE nursery section of an Inverness primary school has been closed by Covid.

Duncan Forbes PS on Keppoch Road, Culloden has advised that Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) has been closed this morning (Tuesday, Jan 18) by the health protection team for further investigation of Covid cases within the setting.

The head teacher told parents/carers she will receive a letter soon to send out to parents and carers, but in the meantime she has been advised that all children should take a lateral flow test daily and share the results of these with the school.

There is also a form to be filled in daily by parents/carers whilst pupils are at home (this might only be for one day) while the health protection team carry out their investigation and advise the school of next steps.

If cases have not spread further, pupils will be able to return to the setting.

The head teacher Wendy Mackay apologised to parents and carers for the inconvenience caused to some families and thanked them for their support in this matter. Recommendations from health protection will be passed on as they cam in, she added. The following is a link for parents and carers.
