Inverness Music Festival has had a “fantastic first few days” of highly-anticipated event.

The festival kicked off last Thursday with sessions on for four consecutive days at Inverness Methodist Church.

Inverness primary schools St Joseph’s, Farr and Cradlehall, all took home wins on the Friday. Competition has been tight, with more than 300 entries received.

Festival organiser Jason McClurg said: “It has been a fantastic first few days at this year’s festival. We have had such a wide range of performances from ensembles to vocal and traditional music.

“Thank you to all of our entrants, supporters, adjudicators and volunteers for making the first few days go so well.”

The festival will be returning this Friday and continues over the weekend before a Highlights Concert finale on March 24 at 2pm. Although the festival is not ticketed, organisers would be grateful for a donation of £3 per spectator.
