INVERNESS based motor group Macrae and Dick – Scotland’s oldest car dealership, is under new ownership.

Coach firm Park’s of Hamilton has confirmed that it has taken over the company which was established in the city to provide horse-drawn vehicles in 1878.

The acquisition adds a further 12 dealerships to the group, including Inverness, Elgin and Aberdeen.

Park’s of Hamilton director Graeme Park said the company were thrilled to bring such a prestigious group into Park’s portfolio.

The business is currently based on Harbour Road and was founded by Roderick Macrae and William Dick in 1878.

Park’s of Hamilton, a family business, has recorded a turnover of £448million in the year to the end of March 2015.
