An Inverness mother has launched a fundraiser for a specialist team in the search for her son.
Selina Stewart's son Gary was last seen on Kessock Bridge in November.
She says she has been left "emotionally, physically and mentally exhausted" as Police Scotland stepped down their search for her son after a matter of days.
Now she has launched a Go Fund Me appeal to organise specialist search dogs and a hand-held sonar device that has been proven to help find people lost at sea.
She said: "I am trying to raise funds for the specialist search dogs for the new AQUAEYE.
"The team who do this are completely voluntary and are going to be helping my family so much.
"Please help in any way you can. Every little helps to bring my boy home."
Ms Stewart described Gary as being "well liked" and "happy-go-lucky" so the incident came as an "absolute shock" to the whole family.
She said: "Gary was a hard-working boy, he liked socialising with his friends and was very family orientated and loved his family.
"All my kids are devastated – Gary was the youngest and the baby of the family."
She feels that Gary has been forgotten by the authorities and says that she wants more to be done to help people who are in the same position.
AQUAEYE is an advanced Sonar underwater scanner that uses the latest sonar technology as well as artificial intelligence to identify human bodies underwater and in waters with poor visibility.
