An Inverness man who failed to comply with the registration requirements of the Sex Offenders' Register has been ordered to carry out 36 hours of unpaid community work.

Darren Leslie, of Lochalsh Road, Inverness appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted not informing the police of a new bank debit card he possessed.

The court heard that officers had gone to his home on a routine visit and mentioned that they did not have details of his bank cards.

Defence solicitor John MacColl told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald that his 35-year-old client "then produced it. It was an oversight on his part."
