A car was damaged with a metal bar following a confrontation in an Inverness street.

Billy Hunter, of Assynt Road, Inverness admitted a charge of maliciously damaging the vehicle and committing a breach of the peace outside his home on June 26, last year.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told by defence solicitor advocate Neil Wilson: "This involved a confrontation not of his own making.

"He is currently on a drug treatment and testing order and it is going well. He also has a four-month-old baby and his life is focused on that."

The 32-year-old had his sentence deferred by Sheriff Robert Frazer until July 6 for his good behaviour.
