AN exchange of abusive text messages landed an Inverness labourer in court.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that 30-year-old Barry Williamson’s ex-partner received a series of abusive and insulting text messages early in the morning of February 13.

Fiscal depute Karen Poke said he called her derogatory names and wanted to now who was in the house with her.

Defence solicitor Duncan Henderson said: “They had been in an on-off relationship for seven years and he had received unpleasant texts from her. But he is the one who is in court.

“He accepts his behaviour in unacceptable.”

Williamson, of Maple Drive, admitted threatening or abusive behaviour and had sentence deferred until September 15 this year for good behaviour.
