An attempt to reconcile with his former girlfriend failed when he turned up drunk at her house in the early hours.

Reece Gordon, of High Street, Inverness let himself in through the back door of her home and although relations were good for a while, he then started behaving erratically and aggressively.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that the 24-year-old, who had separated from the woman in the summer of 2023, went to her property on November 28, 2023.

Fiscal depute David Morton said: "He was obnoxious and argumentative, causing havoc and a mess by overturning items.

"He was rambling saying how much he liked her and then became abusive towards her. He threw toys and a bottle of detergent on the floor and she contacted a friend to help her remove him.

"As he left the property he kicked the front door and the friend contacted the police."

Gordon admitted threatening or abusive behaviour and was placed under 18 months of social work supervision.

He was also banned from contacting the woman for a year.
