A 23 year old Inverness man was fined £420 and banned from driving for a year after admitting having metabolites of cannabis and cocaine in his system.

Morag Moore of Brudes Hill, pleaded guilty at Inverness Sheriff Court to driving on Stratherrick Road on January 15, 2023 with 7mcgs of a cannabis derivative in his blood when the safe limit is 2mcgs.

He also admitted having 344mcgs of the cocaine derivative when the safe limit is 50mcgs.

Representing himself before Sheriff Sara Matheson, Moore told the court that he did not have a drug problem.

"It was from the day before and it was still in my system."
