Former players and staff of an Inverness football club have been reunited as they marked the 40th anniversary of a remarkable record in football history.

Caledonian FC won the Highland League undefeated at the end of the 1982/83 season – breaking a record which had stood for 70 years and won the club recognition as the UK’s non-league side of the year.

They included former striker Raymond Mackintosh (73) who travelled from his home in New Zealand.

Organiser of the reunion, Peter Corbett, who played for all the Inverness sides as well as Ross County and was also manager of Caley and joint manager of Clach, proposed a toast to the Invincibles and to absent friends.

He thanked the Inverness Football Memories Project, ICT FC and the social club for helping to make the event happen.

Club skipper Bob Summers cut a cake specially baked for the occasion.
