The Glen Mhor and Waterside Hotel is creating a Christmas garden every weekend this month.

Customers at an Inverness hotel's Christmas garden will be raising money for a local charity when they raise a glass of mulled wine this December.

The Glen Mhor Hotel and Waterside Restaurant is opening its garden on the banks of the River Ness each weekend throughout this month, with outdoor heaters and blankets helping keep the cold at bay while customers enjoy some seasonal mulled wine, cakes and confectionary and younger family members can take part in drawing competitions, decorate their own gingerbread treats or dip marshmallows.

The garden will enable friends and family to meet up in a safe outdoor environment while restrictions on indoor gatherings remain in force.

For every glass of mulled wine sold, the hotel will donate £1 to Birchwood Highland, to help its work in supporting adults with mental health issues to lead independent lives.

John Cairns, Birchwood Highland’s fundraising and communications manager, said the Glen Mhor's support was "absolutely brilliant" and hoped to be able to continue working with the charity to raise funds and its local profile.

The Christmas garden will be open from noon until 9pm.
