Inverness hotel wins employer of the year at Highland Business Awards

A luxury hotel has picked up the award for employer of the year at the Highland Business Awards 2023.

The Macdonald Drumossie Hotel beat others in its category at the ceremony at the Kingsmills Hotel on Friday.

Highland Business Award judges said that were extremley impressed how the general manager Kenny McMillan has built his talented team of chefs and operations staff. Kenny has introduced weekly workshops to enhance skills, he's created a culture that encourages staff to experiment and a modern apprenticeship scheme that retains and develops talented young staff.

There is also a regular programme of weekends off and a profit share scheme.

On collecting the award, Mr McMillan said: "Thank you very much. We have great people, great food and a great product. I just want to thank the staff, as without them we wouldn't be here."
