A homeless man has profusely apologised after he smashed a High Street shop window to pieces in Inverness.

In the early hours of Sunday morning a homeless man from Inverness reportedly shattered the shop window of Thistle Do Nicely.

The 'unfortunate incident' was immediately reported by a store manager to the police later that morning, however to their surprise the man returned with a heart-felt apology and a peace offering to pay for any damages caused.

A representative from Thistle Do Nicely said: "We have never experienced an incident like this and it was very unfortunate, however the man returned to the shop to admit what he had done, and offered to pay for any subsequent damages, so we just hope that he is alright and takes care of his well-being."

Nothing was reported stolen from the shop and the company have said that they will not be be pressing charges.
