Sentence has been deferred on a heroin dealer caught by police during a raid on an Inverness property.

Officers searched the home of Darren Wardrop (35) in the city’s Lochalsh Road on July 10, 2019.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told he was found to have £1730 in cash, scales with traces of diamorphine detected on them and plastic wrappings to be used for packaging the class A drug.

Fiscal depute Robert Weir said no actual drugs were found during the search but that Wardrop, who appeared from custody, admitted being concerned in the supply.

When asked by police about this he replied “aye, guilty”, the court heard.

Sheriff Gary Aitken deferred sentence until April 21 for the preparation of background reports.

Although Wardrop was released on bail for this matter, he was further remanded on another charge.
