Sometimes important family members miss out on a wedding invitation.

However, Inverness dog-walking business Canine 2 Five has the solution to at least part of that awkward situation – by offering a wedding taxi service for the bride and groom’s four-legged friends to make sure they, at least, can always be a part of the big day too.

The unique addition to more usual dog-walking services has been offered by Canine 2 Five owners, sisters Tsara Stewart and Amber Watson, since they started their own forward-thinking business just over a year ago.

Black lab Bressay was delighted to take advantage of the offer recently, making a special appearance at the wedding day of his owners, Derek and Laura.

“One of our clients was getting married so we took the dog out for an hour’s walk before the service and then took her down to the wedding,” Mrs Stewart explained.

“It’s nice to have your pets at the wedding, but a lot of people wouldn’t want the dogs there for the whole event, so it’s good to be able to just go down and have a couple of photos with the couple in their wedding attire.”

Starting Canine 2 Five may have been her sister’s idea, but Mrs Stewart is no less of a dog lover.

“It’s really taken off,” she said.

“Before lockdown we had 33 dogs on our books and we are definitely picking up again.

“In the last couple of weeks we have seen a few more inquiries and have had a few more dogs to add to the group.”
