Inverness community plants tree to mark coronation of King Charles

Residents in an Inverness neighbourhood have marked the coronation of King Charles by planting a tree.

An autumn flowering cherry tree was planted in the grounds of Smithton Culloden Youth Centre.

It stands alongside a spring flowering cherry tree which was planted in June 2022 to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

It was organised by centre chairman Donald Williams who was joined by members of the Culloden Indoor Bowling Club, a group of adults with learning difficulties who use the centre and local residents.

Mr Williams said the tree would be a lasting reminder of the royal occasion particularly for residents in the future.
