Inverness chopper firm’s figures on the up

Pre-tax profit has been on the rise for an Inverness helicopter firm.

It came as PLM Dollar Group – which is based at Dalcross Industrial Estate and trades under the names PDG Aviation Services and PDG Helicopters – experienced an increase in turnover in its latest accounts.

At the end of the year ended September 30, 2022, it owned and operated 16 helicopters.

Offering a range of aviation charter and related ancillary services, a strategic report accompanying the firm’s latest accounts stated: “The company benefits from a number of long-standing relationships with its suppliers and customers. All these relationships are the focus of significant management attention at all levels of the organisation to maximise opportunities and minimise any adverse impact of the financial performance of the company.”

Pre-tax profit increased from £2,225,857 in 2020/21 to £3,134,902 in 2021/22. For the same period, turnover moved from £14,318,501 to £16,677,618.

A directors’ report alongside the accounts stated: “Over the next year the directors anticipate that the business will continue to grow as we utilise new technologies in the aerial survey market.”

The firm’s average number of employees stayed at 82, while staff costs increased from £3,968,634 to £4,186,451.

The company is a subsidiary of Osprey Aviation Services.
