Inverness Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of three new directors to its board.

This comes as Inverness Chamber devises its strategy for the next five years. Its board of directors, who are independent of the Chamber’s core team, are committed to ensuring the Chamber delivers the services its members need, while also representing the wider business community and the ambitions for the Highland economy.

They will play a vital role in making sure that its member companies are represented in decision making, as well as providing strategic direction and reviewing its financial and operational performance.

Completing their terms in office, Fergus Weir, managing director at teclan ltd, Ina Davies, general manager of Courtyard by Marriott, Inverness Airport, and Nicola Grant, legal director at Brodies LLP, were thanked for their commitment and service to the Chamber and its membership.

Eunice McAdam, Inverness Chamber of Commerce, board president said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome our three new directors to the board. We were very keen to attract someone from manufacturing and industry and Gavin’s experience at SGL, and previously at Lifescan, brings us that.

“We were also looking for a hospitality expert and have been lucky to get Stéphane with his experience, not only of the Drumossie but of world-class hotels throughout the UK. As the Green Freeport really starts to build and influence our region, James will bring a huge number of contacts and great knowledge from leading the Inverness team at the multi-disciplinary consultancy firm, Mabbett.

“They join us at time when we are developing our strategy for the next few years which will be really focussed on serving the needs of all our members.

“I’d also like to pay tribute to the three directors who are stepping down Ina Davies, Fergus Weir and Nicola Grant, and to thank them for the time and expertise they contributed during their tenures on the board.”
