UP to 250 jobs are set to be created when construction of the new Inverness campus starts next year.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise has appointed construction, infrastructure and design company Morgan Sindall to develop 100 acres of land at Beechwood as the first phase of the project.

The £12.3 million contract was awarded following an international procurement exercise and will be delivered over 18 months.

The development includes roads, drainage, landscaping and other infrastructure.

Morgan Sindall’s area director Neil Duncan promised the company would aim to employ local subcontractors wherever possible.

Campus project director Ruaraidh MacNeil said it would be wonderful to see construction begin.
