AN Inverness cafe is being put on the market by the owner.

Brambles Cafe catering unit in Cradlehall Business Park was recently closed on a temporary basis for an extractor fan to be fitted, but today (Thursday June 1) it was announced on the cafe's social media pages that it was closing.

The announcement, by the operators said: "Sadly to say as from today the cabin is now up for sale. Me and Ross would like to thank you all for all the support you have shown Brambles.

"We will be back, just looking for new premises. Please private message me if you know somewhere.

"We do have our eye on a couple places with our investor, so we will keep you updated."

The message ended: "We'll be back serving fresh chips and beautiful food at reasonable prices."

Local member of Highland Council Duncan Macpherson said: "It was a good going business in a good catchment area, and I think the building will be snapped up."

It is understood the building is owned by businessman Stewart Hunter formerly of Inverness but now living in Aberdeen-shire.
