An Inverness café producing hot pies for the joy of football fans in Inverness and Ross-shire were awarded for their hot bakes.

Cafe V8 on Henderson Road scored a hat-trick at the latest edition of the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards.

Their baked goods took home a gold medal –for their sausage roll – and two silvers were awarded for their steak 'n' gravy pies who are supplied to Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County F.C. on match days.

A spokesperson for the café, which was shortlisted for the tenth time in the competition – said on Facebook: "We are absolutely delighted to be coming home with more awards to add to our collection, it’d be impossible without all of your continued support!"

The Inverness business battled competition from all over Scotland – with the overall scotch pie world champion title going – for the fifth time – to James Pirie & Son from Blairgowrie.

They were not the only local winners, with Grazey Days taking home a bronze in the vegetarian pies category for their Goats Cheese & Caramelised Onion Macarolli.
