LCpl Tyler McLeod-Taylor receives his qualification from Colonel Mike MacDonald.

AN Army cadet from Inverness has added an extra qualification to his CV after completing one of the many free programmes the organisation offers.

Cadet Lance Corporal Tyler McLeod-Taylor (17), from 1st Battalion The Highlander’s Culloden detachment, has completed his BTEC Level 1 in teamwork, personal skills and citizenship.

LCpl McLeod-Taylor was presented with his certificate by the Battalion Commandant, Colonel Mike MacDonald.

The qualification was completed through the Army Cadet’s own qualification authority – Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation (CVQO) – the equivalent to a SCQF Level 4 with the Scottish Qualifications Authority.

The internationally recognised qualification builds life skills in leadership, teamwork, communications, problem-solving and fitness and is free.

There was no extra work required for LCpl McLeod-Taylor to achieve the qualification.

All he had to do was complete his One Star Cadet Training and then fill in an application to be enrolled onto CVQO for his cadet training to be formally recognised by the organisation.
