An Inverness shoe shop has offered vouchers for every pupil at Park Primary School in Invergordon which was destroyed by fire earlier this week.

Many pupils also lost possessions, including school shoes, in the blaze on Monday.

Gaven Begg, of Begg Shoes, said: "We want to lend a hand to the parents and pupils of Park Primary after the tragic fire at their school.

"We know that fitted school shoes and trainers can be expensive for parents and we hope this voucher will help pupils affected – even just a little – get back to normal.

"The team in our Inverness High Street store are on standby, to fit and measure replacement shoes."

The business is hoping to be able to distribute the £20 vouchers as soon as possible to parents and school staff.

Highland Council is also giving each pupil £100 compensation for lost belongings.

Nobody was hurt in the blaze.
